Warning: Spykiller May Be Using Fraudulent Practices
Such as false positives to lure surfers into purchasing their highly ineffective spykiller spyware removal tool.
Careful! If you’re looking to purchase anti-spyware software, stay away from “Spykiller.”
This highly priced removal software which sells for way more than leading legitimate antispyware tools such as Webroot’s Spy Sweeper, PestPatrol, Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware, etc. is not all it’s cracked up to be and in fact ranked as “awful” in Adware Report’s latest review.
The software claims to be “The #1 rated SpyWare and AdWare killer for your PC!”
According to who???
If you read Adware Report’s review you will find out that this anti-spyware program is actually ineffective against many forms of spyware.
Tests showed that on a computer intentionally infected with 30 different forms of spyware, it only detected 10. That gives spykiller about a 33 percent effectiveness rate.
What’s worse is that this program might be using what I believe to be terrorism tactics in order to force people to buy their ineffective product.
First of all, the website claims that “98% of Computers have Spyware, Adware, or Keyloggers on them!” They don’t just say this, they state it as a “Fact.”
I’m not saying you shouldn’t be worried about spyware. On the contrary spyware is a real and dangerous threat. But I do believe spykiller is blowing it out of proportion for un-holistic purposes.
Most legitimate antispyware companies offer free trial versions of their spyware removal tools so that you can verify their effectiveness.
Guess what? Anti-Spyware program only offers a free scan which has been proven to display false positives. (Read the Review on spykiller done by Adware Report).
This is how a thier scan works.
After the--possibly not real--spyware is detected on your computer and you begin to panic, Spykiller jumps to the rescue.
But the software will help you remove the spyware on your computer only if you purchase their tool; a tool which will detect spyware on even brand new computers. (Read the report). Tell me if that’s not extortion.
Legitimate anti-spyware companies let you test their software before you buy it. This one doesn’t.
Another thing that I found strange about tis software is that they claim to be able to “remove all spyware, adware, keyloggers, and malware…without harming the operation of the host application” in “KaZaA”.
Kazaa has adware bundled onto it that won’t allow removal. If you want to get rid of the adware, it’s mandatory that you de-install the Kazaa software.
They’ve designed it that way. I doubt spykiller can really do this.
With so much good and legitimate anti-spyware products on the market, why spend your hard earned money on a partly effective product. My advice: don’t buy spykiller!
