Adware & Spyware Programs Are Often Secretly Installed
Yes its true.. adware & spyware programs are often secretly installed on your PC by individuals or advertising companies.
Adware companies can then observe your Internet browsing patterns and your PC's activities in general... in the name of market research… then constantly inundate you with those supper annoying "pop up" ads!
Spyware applications installed onto your PC can be very difficult to remove… and by the way, the difficulty of removing spyware is not accidental.
Have you ever noticed a strange icon on your desktop or start menu and wondered where it came from? Have you ever logged on to the Internet to find that your home page had been switched?
Are there strange search bars on every page you visit?
These are all symptoms of spyware malware or adware programs. These programs can place icons almost anywhere on your PC, they can change your home page whenever they wish, and they control your Google search results so you see the results that they want you to see. In short Spyware can take control from your hands and can make your system move in any direction.
Some of these companies get your approval in advance by hiding your permission in license agreements or other items you have installed like popular file-sharing programs. So you need to be extra careful whenever you come across any unwanted ads and pop ups. Never click on any pop up ad unless you are sure about their reliability.
Your PC is probably infected with adware and or spyware if:
you have downloaded music online
your PC is running extremely slow
you are bothered by those horrible popup ads
sudden homepage change
slow speed
unwanted icons at your desktop
There are certain issues that a privacy oriented user may object to and therefore prefer not to use the product. This usually involves the tracking and sending of data and statistics via a server installed on the user's PC and the use of your Internet connection in the background.
They may take your secret and very personal information like passwords and credit card information and eventually can use that information in any way they wish.
Generally, the basic Microsoft’s uninstall features cannot remove ALL adware and software components. In many cases there are additional components, which can remain active on your hard drive, which will try to reinstall them selves as if by magic and continue to transmit private information.
Removing these adware /shareware programs can be very difficult and sometimes complicated to search out all the hidden components and cookies and will require additional assistance.
In addition, since most adware programs are bundled & included with other freeware or shareware programs removing the spyware can disable the parent freeware program making them inoperable so be prepared to remove or replace the offending freeware program as well.
